ZeitFix — Privacy Policy

your daily fix of the world

Last updated: 2 August 2026

ZeitFix (“the app”) is a news-reading app that lets you swipe through RSS news feeds. This policy explains what data the app handles. Plain version: the app stores your preferences on your own device, fetches public news feeds, and — only if you choose to sign in — syncs your data to your private cloud account.

What we store, and where

On your device (always)

This data lives in the app’s local storage on your phone. It is deleted if you uninstall the app. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers. The app shows no ads and contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

In the cloud (only if you sign in)

If you choose to create an account (email + one-time code), the data listed above is stored in a private, per-user record so it can sync across your devices. It is protected so that only your authenticated account can read or write it. Cloud storage and authentication are provided by Supabase; your email address is used solely to sign you in. You can sign out at any time, which stops syncing; your on-device data remains.

News content

The app fetches publicly available RSS/Atom feeds from third-party news publishers and shows headlines, short summaries, timestamps and (where available) images, each linking back to the original article on the publisher’s website. When you open an article, your device connects directly to that publisher, whose own privacy policy then applies. To find an image for feeds that don’t provide one, the app may request the article’s public web page.

Subject searches

“My subjects” uses Google News RSS search to find stories matching terms you enter. Those terms are sent to Google News as search queries to retrieve results.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
